Remember this Vanquish, in the beautiful classic Aston color Silver Birch? It was one of the first Vanquish cars delivered in the Netherlands, in March 2013. In the meantime, the first owner has upgraded to a Vanquish Volante and, judging from these photos by spotter TwinCharged, the Silver Birch beauty is already being enjoyed by its’ new owner.

Yep, two car shows in one week! Saturday’s Interclassics event was all about classic Astons, but yesterday it was time to spot some new models at the AutoSalon in Brussels. I spent most of my time in Hall 12, the super car hall, where Aston Martin had a stand showing a Rapide S, a Vanquish and a V12 Vantage S. But two other Astons could be found in other halls, a V12 Vantage GT3 hidden away in the bike halls and a classic DB6 Vantage at the Vredestein stand.
This Sunday, the Kroymans dealership held a belated New Year’s party. Special guests: a Vanquish Volante in Apple Tree Green and a Yellow Tang V12 Vantage S! Together with a pre-owned DB9 Volante in Volcano Red, this formed a nice rastafari coloured threesome:
This weekend I visited the 2014 edition of the yearly Interclassics & Topmobiel fair in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Last year’s edition was the best year for Aston Martin fans, because it celebrated AM’s 100 year anniversary. But still, lots of Aston Martin’s to find this year. In part two of the “Customizing my V12 Vantage” series, we’re going to look at the first de-chroming I did: blackening out the window trim. This was done by wrapping the original chrome window sills with thin black foil, without even removing them first. Before: After:
All Aston Martin cars are close to perfection the way they roll off the production line. But still, I can’t resist customizing them. Either to add factory options that were not available at the time of purchase, to make changes that Gaydon doesn’t offer, or just to give the car a completely new look after owning it for a while. After I purchased my V12 Vantage, now over 3 years ago, I left it “as-is” for 2 years. But then, the customizing began. In this “Customizing my V12 Vantage” series, I will show and tell you about all changes I made to the red monster since then. In the past few weeks, Tim (aka Shmee150) had been dropping hints that could indicate he might be buying a new car, trading in his Audi R8 V10 Spyder. So last Friday, when Shmee150 posted a picture on Facebook of the Aston Martin dealership in Leeds, UK with a shiny white V12 Vantage in the window, everyone immediately concluded that he was going to buy an Aston Martin.
