This is the Rapide Bertone Jet 2+2

A shooting brake edition of the Rapide. Not a bad idea at all.
And if it looks this good, I say: bring it on!

Bertone created this concept car for an Aston Martin collector and they’re calling it the Bertone Jet 2+2. And they’re bringing it to the Geneva Motorshow next week!

Sadly, the Jet 2+2 is based on the Rapide, not the new Rapide S. But judging from the pictures, Bertone did look at the Rapide S for inspiration, because the Jet does have the full grill on the front end (plus a couple of agressive looking air intakes). For the rear, they clearly looked at the One-77, as it also has the bar connecting the rear lights. Very nice.

According the press blurb, the interior of Berton Jet 2+2 has more head-room for the rear passengers. Great, but I think what the Rapide needed most was more leg space….

4 Comments:

  1. Aston Martin d’ont need to follow Porsche’s ideas. I’m shure you will sell thousands of 4 doors, but for me, a really AM its a roadster.

  2. Stunning car…. stole the show at Geneva but no more to be built. This is a one off unique Aston Martin JET 2+2.
If you want a JET 2+2 you will have to buy this one.

  3. make more of these

  4. “Shooting Brake” is sorta (very) loosely applied here……Doubt my doublegun case would fit in the “trunk” , nor would my other double’s Motor Case, although it was specifically made to be carried in a “Shooting Brake”. Ground clearance might be an issue in dirt road travel…..But getting there??? It’d be lots more than half the fun!! Seriously, “Shooting Brake” DOES sound a lot better than “Station Wagon.”

I don’t know why the premier exoticar builders won’t approach the idea of a high performance car with 4 doors….especially when it looks like that design exercise.
If I had the coins, I’d buy it.
