This weekend we organized another edition of the 2-monthly Sunday Drive for the Dutch Power Beauty Soulmates. This time, we created a nice route through Brabant, the mid-southern part of the Netherlands, taking us over beautiful roads and through many nice villages.
Last April I already visited Biarritz together with my friend Eduard, to plan routes in the Pyrenees for the club trip in June. So last week, we went again, but this time for real, with twenty Aston Martins! Two days driving from Amsterdam to Biarritz, 4 days in the Pyrenees, then back to Amsterdam in 1 day. Next to my job as “route manager”, I was able to make lots of photos of Aston Martins at beautiful locations (and fuel stations 🙂 ). Here’s a selection:
Twenty-three Aston Martins were participating in this year’s second Power Beauty Soulmates Sunday drive, including many Volantes and Roadsters, with their owners enjoying the extremely sunny day with the top down. This Sunday’s route started in Woerden for lunch, at restaurant Janzen. After lunch, a 90 minute drive took us through the “green heart” of the Netherlands, taking only B-roads. The roads getting narrower as we went along, with the last stretch following the Amstel and Waver rivers towards Vinkeveen. In Vinkeveen, the finish was at Beach Club Lust, where we had our own little Pebble Beach event, as we had special permission to park our Astons along the banks of lake Vinkeveen.
The new Power Beauty Soulmates season 2014 has started, with the first Sunday Drive of 2014. And for the first time ever, this Sunday Drive was not members-only; this one was open for any Aston Martin owner. On this beautiful sunny day, twenty-three Astons showed for and a nice drive along the Dutch coast. ( a special thanks to Cindy and Jackie of SuperCarClub.nl, for letting us use their road book )

This weekend, the Power Beauty Soulmates (a dutch Aston Martin club) visited Zwolle, to have dinner at the famous 3-star restaurant De Librije. Because of the nice weather, the amount of members that actually arrived in their Astons in this time of the year was surprisingly high. Here’s some quick photos I took of the Astons present:
This weekend’s Sunday Drive of the Dutch PBSM Club was a special one, as two members had organized the “Aston Martin Elfstedentocht”. For the non-dutchies among us: the Elfstedentocht is a 200 kilometer long ice skating tour leading past 11 cities in the northern part of the Netherlands. The Aston Martin edition of this “eleven cities tour” had to use the roads instead of the canals and rivers, so it was slightly longer, 230 kilometers, and including the trip to and from the hotel came to just over 320 KMs, for most part over winding B-roads.
Yesterday it was the first Sunday of an “even” month again, which means: Sunday Drive!
Sadly, our fantastic trip had to end. This is the final day, in which we drove back to Newcastle starting at the hotel in Torridon. Not the most exciting roads, but still… who can complain about driving an Aston all day?
For the sixth day of the Scotland Tour, no route was planned. Just a special event late in the afternoon. The rest of the day, everyone was free to go (or not go) where they wanted.
