Aston Martin CC100 Speedster Concept

It’s here and it’s stunning: the Aston Martin CC100 Speedster Concept!

I was very much looking forward to see this car. A V12 Vantage based open car, with its’ styling based on the classic DBR1. I was wondering how that would turn out.
Well, it’s even better than I hoped it would be. Just look at it:

This car joined us in The Parade with 107 Aston Martins around the Nordschleife. When we returned at the dedicated Aston Martin parking, I was able to make these photos:

From the press-release:

Features hint at potential future design direction

That is completely fine with me. Bring it on!

Automated sequential manual gearbox

Also from the press-release:

The CC100 utilises the latest generation AM11 naturally aspirated V12 gasoline engine mated to a six-speed hydraulically actuated automated sequential manual transmission. Controlled via steering column-mounted paddle shifts the lightweight ‘box delivers truly sporting changes perfectly suited to the Speedster’s track-focused nature.

Interesting, that is a first and surely a sign of things to come.
Will the next V12 Vantage use this gearbox too?

One Comment:

  1. Fantastic pictures of CC100! CC100 is really stunning!!
Would be great if you can place high res pictures or wallpapers?

I don’t know or the next generation V12 Vantage will use the same gearbox. For a hardcore sportscar such as V12 Vantage I prefer manual gearbox.
