CC100 Speedster Concept voted “Most beautiful concept car of the year”

Obviously everybody knows that Aston Martin makes the most beautiful cars in the world. But it’s nice to see that fact confirmed by some “official” jury once in a while: This week, at The Festival Automobile International in Paris, the CC100 Speedster Concept was voted the “Most beautiful concept car of the year”. No arguments here. Just look at it, what a beauty. Here’s some more photos I took of the CC100 at the Parade event at the Nürburgring last year:

Centenary Parade – the head of the pack

Driving in the Aston Martin Centenary Parade at the Nordschleife was a unique and exciting experience. Hopefully you were able to catch some of that excitement from the parade photos and the parade video, both shot by my wife, riding with me in the V12 Vantage Roadster. However, driving in the parade myself did mean I wasn’t able to take pictures of most of the other cars in the parade. And boy oh boy, there were some interesting cars (and drivers!) participating, especially at the head of the pack. Luckily, I have just received a large batch of photos taken by other photographers from the side of the track, most in the famous Nordschleife Carousel corner. Here’s a selection of those photos. If you want see all photos, check this album on my Aston Martin News page on Facebook.

The Parade – 107 Aston Martins on the Nürburgring Nordschleife

Earlier today, as a part of Aston’s centenary celebrations, 107 Aston Martins (including my Red and Blue) did a Parade Lap around the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The convoy of 107 Aston Martins was lead by the new Aston Martin CC100 driven by Dr Ulrich Bez, the iconic DBR1 driven by Sir Stirling Moss and, as a special guest, mr. Bond himself, Daniel Craig driving a DB5!

Aston Martin CC100 Speedster Concept

It’s here and it’s stunning: the Aston Martin CC100 Speedster Concept! I was very much looking forward to see this car. A V12 Vantage based open car, with its’ styling based on the classic DBR1. I was wondering how that would turn out. Well, it’s even better than I hoped it would be. Just look at it: This car joined us in The Parade with 107 Aston Martins around the Nordschleife. When we returned at the dedicated Aston Martin parking, I was able to make these photos:

This weekend: Aston Martin at the Nürburgring 24 hours race

Only a few days to go… This weekend, from Sunday 17:00 to Monday 17:00, the 24 hours race of the Nürburgring will be held, on the infamous Nordschleife track. Aston Martin Racing will compete in the 24 hours race with 3 cars: The Bilstein-liveried V12 Vantage GT3 (shown above). Another V12 Vantage in close-to-production specification. The first hydrogen-powered race-car, a Rapide S. Next to that, 4 other Aston Martins, non-factory teams, will enter the race.

Coming soon: Aston Martin CC100

The centenary celebrations continue. In May, at the Nürburgring 24-hour race, Aston Martin will reveal a new V12 Vantage based car: the CC100. Almost no information is available at the moment, but this is what we do know about the CC100: Based on the V12 Vantage. Styling influenced by the DBR1 racer. Two seats. Open top. That is, no top at all. No doors. Only two will be built. Pricing between V12 Zagato and One-77. Very interesting. Looks I will have to go to the Nürburgring 24-hour race in May 🙂 Source: Autocar.co.uk.
