Vanquish S (2004) manual in Toro Red

A Vanquish S, yes the “old” Vanquish, has been on my wish list for a long time.
And today I came across this beauty, for sale at Nicholas Mee in the UK.

Vanquish S 2004 manual in Toro Red - front

You know I love my cars in actual colors right? Well, this one is perfect. It’s in Toro Red and the interior is a combination of Obsidian Black and Chancellor Red.

Plus, this is a rare manual conversion Vanquish. You see, the Vanquish and Vanquish S have only been built with an automatic gearbox. Or to be more precise, an automated manual box, controlled with paddles on the steering wheel (electrohydraulic manual transmission). However, this one has been converted by Aston Martin Works to a real manual gearbox, that is, with a real gear shift.

Too bad that it is Right Hand Drive (a no go for me), otherwise I would be very tempted.

Interested? Check it out at the Nicholas Mee website.

Hi Alwin – I owned the first Toro Red Vanquish S produced in 2004, engine number 501448, until December 2011. It was the Press car, used by Top Gear and Fifth Gear TV programmes in UK. Famously a flappy paddle. Interesting to see if this is the same car with the manual gearbox conversion. BTW great car, like a very fast go kart with a monster V12.

  2. There were two red press cars. Your one, Mike, is still flappy paddle and still looks fantastic.
